Former LSU fullback Shawn Jordan won two BCS titles during his time at LSU, and he seeks another championship on Saturday in a very different sport: mixed martial arts.

Shawn “the Savage” Jordan (19-7) will take on reigning heavyweight champion Blagoy Ivanov (14-1) in Verona, New York, in WSOF 35. The former Tiger, billed out of Baton Rouge, fights with American Top Team and will face a culture clash with his Bulgarian opponent.

Jordan began his mixed martial arts career in 2008, shortly after leaving Baton Rouge, and turned pro in May of 2009. This secondary career clearly isn’t a gimmick for Jordan, who has been at it ever since.

After fighting in small venues around the south early in his career, he was scooped up by the UFC, where he gave fans highlights like this:

IN THE FACE.

Now with the World Series of Fighting, the 32-year-old, 265-pound Jordan looks to bring yet another title back to Baton Rouge.

Jordan played in 40 games at LSU, making two starts from 2003-2007. He was mainly used as a blocking fullback and on special teams.
