The annual NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis is a big part of the pre-draft audition for prospects. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always go as planned.
On Friday, former LSU OL Lloyd Cushenberry suffered an apparent hamstring injury while running his second 40-yard dash. In the video clip below from Twitter, you can hear the reaction from Rich Eisen and the rest of the NFL Network broadcasters as Cushberry pulls up hurt after about 25 yards.

According to Garrett Stepien of 247Sports, NFL Network reporter Kimberly Jones relayed to viewers that Cushenberry would not return for on-field workouts with the linemen.
“That’s terribly unfortunate. We hope he has a great pro day and obviously years from now when he’s a successful pro, this will just be a blip on the radar screen,” Eisen said, per 247Sports.
Earlier in the week, Cushenberry measured at 6-3 1/8, 312 pounds with 10 3/8-inch hands, 34 1/8-inch arms and an 84 1/4-inch wingspan. He was a two-year starter (2018, ’19) at center for LSU, playing in 39 games during his Tigers career. Cushenberry recorded 25 reps on the bench press and a 5.27 40-yard dash time prior to sustaining the injury. If the injury does not lead to any significant setbacks, Cushenberry should be one of the first interior offensive linemen taken in April’s draft.
