Former LSU wide receiver Jack Bech came away with a magical moment in the Senior Bowl on Saturday, scoring the game-winning touchdown as time expired in Mobile.
The play came on 4th-and-goal for the American Team with 7 seconds left in the game and trailing the National Team, 19-16. It was a rollout for quarterback Seth Henigan who was able to find Bech coming back across the formation for the short touchdown.
Bech was representing TCU after spending his final 2 seasons with the Horned Frogs, including a breakout year in 2024. However, he began his career in Baton Rouge, finishing with 689 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns with the Tigers.
Saturday’s moment was especially meaningful for Bech. He lost his older brother, Tiger, a former star for Princeton during the tragic New Year’s attack in New Orleans, a situation that was chronicled by ESPN’s College GameDay.
Bech was already honoring his brother, Tiger, by wearing No. 7 in the Senior Bowl. Jack wore No. 18 during his time at TCU, and every player in the Senior Bowl donned a No. 7 Princeton decal in Tiger’s honor a this year’s Senior Bowl.
Jack Bech would also go down as the Senior Bowl MVP, finishing the game with 6 catches for 68 yards and the game-winning touchdown. It’s a nice way to jumpstart his NFL Draft stock and will go down as a memorable and emotional afternoon for the Bech family.
