While movements in the transfer portal and recruiting world have been dominating headlines in college football as of late, programs are also still filling out personnel when it comes to their coaching staffs.
And in Columbia, Eli Drinkwitz & Co. made a hire Wednesday when ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that former Northern Illinois offensive line coach Luke Meadows had agreed to become an assistant O-line coach for Missouri.
The South Dakota State graduate has a myriad of coaching stops on his journey, primarily at the Group of Five level.
Meadows began his coaching career at his alma mater, working in roles as a graduate assistant, running backs and offensive line coach for the Jackrabbits for much of the 2000s and early 2010s. He then took on the offensive-line role at Florida Atlantic before being promoted to offensive coordinator midway through the 2013 campaign.
Stints as offensive line coach at Southern Miss (2014-2015) and Garden City C.C. (2016-2017) preceded Meadows finding his way to the MAC at Eastern Michigan in 2017. He then led the O-line at Kansas for two seasons before landing at Troy and ultimately being hired by Thomas Hammock and the Huskies.
Brandon Jones, who was hired by Mizzou in 2023, currently acts as the team’s lead offensive line coach.
Parker is currently the sports editor for the Enterprise-Journal in McComb, Mississippi. He's a graduate from Mizzou who has experience covering the Tiger football and basketball beats for SB Nation, and he's worked for a variety of sports news outlets in the past.
