The NFL has fined K.J. Wright for a facemask during Sunday’s action.

The former Mississippi State LB and current Seattle Seahawks star incurred the infraction during a game against the New York Giants. Thankfully the penalty did not have much of an outcome on the game as the Seahawks went on to win the game 24-7.

Wright is having another strong season with Seattle as he is up to 42 total tackles in six games.

The play may not have hurt the Seahawks, but the fine will certainly hurt Wright’s bank account. Charean Williams with Pro Football Talk shared that the fine will be just over $9,000:

The NFL fined Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright $9,115 for a facemask in Sunday’s game against the Giants. In the first quarter, Wright tackled Giants running back Orleans Darkwa but grabbed his facemask and twisted Darkwa’s head in the process.

Wright is in his seventh NFL season and has more than 600 total tackles for his career with 11.5 sacks. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2016 and has won a Super Bowl ring with the Seahawks.

Wright played at Mississippi State from 2007-10 and finished his career with 258 tackles, 22.5 TFL, 8 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles.
