Former Mississippi State lineman Elgton Jenkins was escorted off the field following fights during a joint practice between the Packers and Bengals.
The Green Bay left guard was involved in 2 fights with Bengals defenders during the session on Wednesday. The first came after Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt took issue with a block from Jenkins and the Packers briefly pulled Jenkins from drills to cool down, Pro Football Talk reported. He returned, but was escorted off for good by team personnel after another scrap with Bengals defensive lineman D.J. Reader.
Jenkins didn’t speak about the most recent incidents, but last week discussed trash talk with the defense.
โWe ainโt bowing down for nobody. Theyโre good, but I feel like weโre good, too,โ Jenkins said after a particularly intense verbal tรชte-ร -tรชte with cornerback Rasul Douglas that afternoon, via Madison.com. โI feel like game respects game. If youโre playing against a good player and they watch film and they know youโre a good player, you already know itโs going to be a battle.
โI donโt really have to say too much, but if you tick me off โฆ It donโt take too much to tick me off. If you start doing dirty (expletive), or you disrespect me โฆ”
But Bengals defensive lineman D.J. Reader called Jenkins “just another guy.”
โHeโs a jag, man,โ Reader said. โI donโt know that guy. No idea who he is. I mean, I see he made two Pro Bowls, so good for him. But he blocked for Aaron Rodgers. That donโt make you nobody.โ
