Former Mississippi State mascot no longer suing school, still suing ESPN

A former Mississippi State moscot who had her leg run over by an ESPN cart during the 2013 Egg Bowl is no longer suing the school.
However, Michaela Mills is still suing the Worldwide Leader.
The Clarion-Ledger obtained court documents that show Mills submitted paperwork on Jan. 28 to exclude MSU from the suit with prejudice, and the university confirmed that as fact.
It was back in May that Mills filed the original lawsuit seeing damages from an injury that she suffered on Nov. 28, 2013 at Davis Wade Stadium.
While dressed as the school’s mascot “Bully” on the sideline, an ESPN cart made contact with her left leg, causing a compound fracture that resulted in two surgeries right after the contest.
According to the lawsuit, she’s still not 100 percent healthy as pain still persists. She blames the cart’s driver and spotter for negligence during an “exciting portion of the game.”
According to The Clarion-Ledger, Mills is seeking damages that amount to roughly $75,000.
