Former Missouri LB Shane Ray cut by the Baltimore Ravens

Former first-round pick Shane Ray was cut by the Baltimore Ravens on Friday as the team worked to get its roster down to 53 players. Ray was a veteran pass rusher trying to revive his career.
Ray was drafted 23rd overall by the Denver Broncos in the 2015 NFL Draft after he had a banner season with Missouri in 2014. As a junior in 2014, Ray was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year and was named first-team All-America status after he led the SEC in sacks and tackles for loss.
Ray played his first four seasons in the NFL with the Broncos where he totaled 14 sacks. His best season came in 2016 when he had eight sacks and 48 tackles.
Ray has dealt with injuries the last couple of seasons, and had two tackles and a half-sack in four preseason games.
