Due to injuries, New York Jets DL Sheldon Richardson has been asked to spend some time at linebacker this season.
That’s no problem for the former Mizzou star. Richardson told the New York Post that playing a new position will only help him make more when he’s negotiating his next contract:
“I can show numbers, but I also like showing film. My film don’t lie,” Richardson said. “You took a three technique [player] that was drafted in the first round and pulled him to outside linebacker and he held his own, that’s just building up a résumé. That’s just how I look at it.
“I think it’ll give me more money.”
Richardson has 28 tackles and 1.5 sacks for the Jets this season. The former first-round pick has recorded 18 sacks in his three-plus year NFL career.
