Former Mizzou WR Dorial Green-Beckham anxious to prove his worth to the Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles made a splash at the wide-receiver position this offseason, adding former Chicago Bears star (and ex-South Carolina WR) Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith in free agency and rookies Mack Hollins and Shelton Gibson through the draft process.

That leaves former Mizzou WR Dorial Green-Beckham in a battle to earn one of the final roster spots for a receiver. After a disappointing 2016 season, DGB needs to have a strong preseason or else he could be looking for a new team.

That’s going to be easier said than done, though, as Green-Beckham told Philly.com during OTAs this week that he hasn’t been getting much work with the first units:

“I don’t really get a lot of opportunities at practice,” Green-Beckham said, “but I feel like everything on my end is going pretty good.”

Though DGB has a good attitude so far this offseason, it may be too little, too late, as the Eagles may decide they don’t have room for the ex-Tiger no matter what he does this summer:

“I’m just going to approach it with a positive attitude,” Green-Beckham said. “I know that doesn’t change anything for me, but I just love the competition.”

As Philadelphia’s training camp approaches and the preseason looms large, Green-Beckham will do everything he can to make the most of his limited opportunities moving forward.
