Former Ole Miss QB Jordan Ta’amu had to be patient to make his professional football regular-season debut, but it’s safe to say it was worth the wait.
After going undrafted in 2019, Ta’amu landed with the St. Louis BattleHawks of the rebooted XFL. On Sunday, he led the BattleHawks to victory showing off his strong arm and running ability. Ta’amu completed 20 of 27 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown and added 77 yards rushing on nine attempts in St. Louis’ 15-9 win over the Dallas Renegades.

Ta’amu’s BattleHawks were 9.5-point betting underdogs to the Bob Stoops-coached Renegades. The handicappers appear to still be getting a feel for the NFL, as the over/under mark for the game was set at 52.5 points and less than half that amount was actually scored.
