Last month, former LSU assistant coach Frank Wilson took the head coaching position at UTSA.
On Saturday, Wilson added a little more SEC flavor to the Conference USA coaching staff.
According to a report from FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman, former South Carolina RB coach Everette Sands will join Wilson at UTSA in the same capacity.

Sands served as the running backs coach under Steve Spurrier beginning in 2012, and was a part of the coaching staff for both of the Gamecocks’ 11-win seasons.
He coached Marcus Lattimore until a gruesome injury ended his season in 2012, and was responsible the development of 1,000 yard rusher Mike Davis, as well as Brandon Wilds.
According to a report from The State, he is the seventh Spurrier assistant to land a new job following the coach’s midseason retirement:
linbeackers coach Kirk Botkin (S.C. State), offensive line coach Shawn Elliott (South Carolina), defensive co-coordinator Lorenzo Ward (Fresno State), defensive co-coordinator Jon Hoke (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), defensive line coach Deke Adams (East Carolina) and special teams coordinator Joe Robinson (Texas Tech).
