Former Tennessee hoops forward Drew Pember has been dominating in the Big South Conference for UNC Asheville.
Pember was the Big South Defensive Player of the Year last season and just hit a clutch game-winner for the Bulldogs against ETSU. The Knoxville native hit this huge shot over fellow Tennessee transfer Brock Jancek off an inbounds pass. Of course, UNC Asheville came out on top, 74-73.

Pember scored 13 points in this game, totaling a team-high 12 boards in the process. He’s averaging 20.3 points and 9.3 rebounds on 50% shooting for the Bulldogs. His 20.3 points per game ranks 18th in the country.
Pember struggled to effectively play in the SEC with his smaller size. He did have his flashes though and was a 4-star recruit out of Bearden High School in Knoxville, about 7 miles west of Thompson-Boling Arena.
His old team is back in action Saturday night as the Vols take on No. 9 Arizona at 10:30 p.m. EST on ESPN2.
