Former Tennessee LB Curt Maggitt shares ‘favorite part’ of Tennessee’s 2022 season

Former Tennessee linebacker Curt Maggitt enjoyed a strong career with the Volunteers from 2011-2015. After an ACL tear in 2013, he bounced back in 2014 to make 11.0 sacks before a hip injury cut his 2015 season short after just 2 games.
While Maggitt’s career began with 3 straight 5-7 seasons, the first 2 under Derek Dooley, the Vols improved to 7-6 and later 9-4 under Butch Jones. But the 2022 edition has set the bar even higher, sitting at 8-0 and No. 2 in the country with serious national championship aspirations.
That’s thanks in part to the play of Hendon Hooker, among others, but plenty of intangibles have been in play, according to Maggitt, despite a few “small” miscues here and there. It’s those intangibles that he called his “favorite part” about the team.
“For me, it’s the swagger, it’s the confidence. It’s the unwavering [belief] when things don’t go right,” he said on Twitter. “I really love that we’re not a perfect team, because adversity’s coming up every game…but we’re not bending. We’re not breaking. The guys [are] showing that maturity, staying the course, being led by a hell of a quarterback, defense flying, I’m loving it.”
