Former Tennessee and Oklahoma offensive lineman Wanya Morris found himself on the receiving end of a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes on Sunday. That’s a tad unusual with offensive linemen usually meant to help the offense score touchdowns with their blocking.

With the Kansas City Chiefs trailing the Cincinnati Bengals, 16-10, in the third quarter, Mahomes took a play-action fake on the goal line and hit Morris for a 1-yard touchdown. It was a beautiful formation and play call with the Bengals completing avoiding the backup offensive tackle.

Morris originally committed to Florida State but decided to change his mind and eventually attended Tennessee.

He was named to the Freshman All-SEC team in 2019 while starting 12 of 13 games and also earning freshman All-American honors. Morris started 7 games the following year before transferring to Oklahoma.

During the 2022 season, he played in 9 games, starting 8 of them en route to a second-team All-Big 12 season. Morris did miss 2 games that season due to an undisclosed suspension and eventually sat out the bowl game after that season and declared for the 2023 NFL draft.

He was drafted with the 92nd pick that year and is a reserve offensive lineman for the Chiefs.
