When the Denver Broncos used a seventh-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft on a punter, it was the beginning of the end for former Tennessee P Britton Colquitt.

Colquitt is set to make $3.25 million this year and, unless he takes a pay cut, that’s too much for the Broncos, who had to shell out a massive contract to LB/DE Von Miller this offseason.

Pro Football Talk reports that the Broncos are shopping Colquitt to see if anyone is interested in the veteran punter.

Colquitt is ready for whatever comes his way, whether it’s a trade, a backup role or getting cut:

“We’ll see what God has planned,” Colquitt said. “God’s got me this far so I’m putting everything in his hands and we don’t have control over anything, anyway.’’

Rookie Riley Dixon handled all of Denver’s punting duties in Saturday’s preseason game, finishing with a 44.9-yard average.
