Tennessee football fans knew Velus Jones Jr’s age (25) wouldn’t matter when the Chicago Bears picked him in the 3rd round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Jones is letting his play do the talking at the Bears’ preseason camp. He was one of the fastest receivers at the Draft Combine with a 4.3 40-yard dash time, which was on full display Saturday morning.

Jones’ route-running was put on display Saturday as well. The 6-foot, 200-pound primary slot receiver is dangerous with the ball in his hands after completion, similar to fellow former Tennessee Vol Cordarrelle Patterson.
The below completion was his best snag of the day, per Chicago Football Connection on Twitter.

Jones will be one of the top features in the Bears’ offense this season alongside 3rd-year receiver Darnell Mooney and former Kansas City Chiefs speedster Byron Pringle.
