The Miles boys are getting together in Lawrence, Kansas.

Former Texas A&M FB Ben Miles has officially transferred to the Kansas Jayhawks, joining his dad, Les Miles (head coach) and brother, Manny Miles (quarterback). Ben did not make a formal announcement about his transfer, but multiple reporters had found he was listed on the Kansas roster.

At a Friday press conference, Les revealed to reporters that since Ben is not on scholarship, he will be eligible to play for KU this fall. Ben was a walk-on at Texas A&M and will also be a walk-on at Kansas.

“I think he’s a pretty talented athlete. He came from a place with pretty talented players. So I think he can help,” Les said of his son. “I think he comes with a great disposition. I think he’s a football player. I think he’s a competitor. Talent? We’ll have to see. I think he’s pretty talented.”

Less than a week away it was reported that Ben had entered his name into the NCAA’s transfer portal. Manny was a walk-on quarterback at North Carolina. The Miles boys and the rest of the Jayhawks had their first practice of fall camp on Friday.

“How many guys get the chance to at this level to do it (play for their father), and Ben did a great job for us,” Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher said of the former Aggie. “He was playing his tail off for us finding a role with us. At the same time, I totally understand. That’s a great family, and I totally understand and support the decision.”
