Former Vanderbilt WR Trent Sherfield is part of a highlight play that has NFL Twitter buzzing.

First-round pick Trey Lance is making his NFL preseason debut in the San Francisco-Kansas City NFL preseason game.

Lance’s first pass was incomplete, but on his second throw, he found Sherfield wide-open. Sherfield caught it around the Chiefs’ 40-yard-line, behind the Kansas City coverage and he made it an 80-yard house call.

Sherfield went undrafted in 2018 but managed to land on the active roster in Arizona. After three seasons with the Cardinals, he signed with San Francisco this offseason. For his career, Sherfield has played in 44 games, recording 28 catches for 340 yards and a touchdown.
