Four-star defensive lineman Elijah Conliffe commits to Florida over Tennessee
Following a busy week on the recruiting trail, things are looking much better for Jim McElwain and company heading into National Signing Day.
The Gators continue to gain momentum heading into the recruiting junkies’ Christmas by landing the commitment of four-star Virginia native Elijah Conliffe Tuesday. Even better news for Florida fans, Conliffe was believed to be a Tennessee lean up until the end of his recruitment.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Conliffe rates as the nation’s No. 19 defensive tackle prospect and the No. 12 overall prospect from Virginia. The lineman chose the Gators over offers from Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Louisville, Miami, Penn State, Oklahoma, Oregon, among others.

With Conliffe’s pledge, the Gators now have 18 commitments lined up heading into signing day with eyes toward adding a few more Wednesday. In addition to the total number of verbal commits, Florida now has eight four-star prospects committed in this class.
