FOX Sports analyst explains how Texas backfield could look in 2023 without Bijan Robinson
Bijan Robinson has now moved on from Texas and is a member of the Atlanta Falcons. There is a giant hole in the backfield now that he’s gone.
R.J. Young sat down with Fox Sports’ Laken Litman on Monday to talk about what the Longhorn backfield is going to look like in 2023.
Could there be another Robinson-like running back on the roster? Litman believes that it is too early to tell.
“It’s a little hard to tell right now because Bijan and Roschon Johnson took the majority of the snaps. We don’t really know what else there was behind them. We got a glimpse of Jaydon Blue last year, C.J. Baxter. Keilan Robinson comes back from last year, Jonathon Brooks returns. There’s a lot of skill, but we just don’t know. Texas has a lot of good options.”

Bijan Robinson led the Texas backfield with 1,580 yards rushing and 20 total touchdowns.
Steve Sarkisian led the Longhorns to an eight-win season that ended with a loss in the Alamo Bowl to Washington.
One thing to watch in Austin will be to see who emerges as the frontrunner among the running backs. There is no shortage of options to pick from if you’re Sarkisian.
