Charles Woodson shouts out Jordan Davis as potential Heisman Trophy candidate

Georgia’s Jordan Davis might not win the Heisman Trophy when it’s all said and done, but his candidacy is gathering a little bit more steam.
Only 1 person that primarily played at a defensive position has won the prestigious award given to the most outstanding player in college football, and that’s Charles Woodson in 1997. Whether Davis wins it or not, he’s one of the key reasons why the Dawgs’ defense has been one of the best in the country.
Davis will get another chance to improve his stock on Saturday as Georgia takes on Florida in Jacksonville. During the “Club Heisman” segment on FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff” featuring Woodson, Reggie Bush, and Matt Leinart, the former Michigan and NFL great, who is an analyst on “FOX NFL Kickoff” on Sunday mornings, had a nod to the big defensive tackle.
“You’ve never seen a dude this big get this skinny between the A gap and the B gap,” Woodson joked.
In fact, Davis is 6-foot-6 and 340 pounds. But his movement on the field makes him a terrific talent, a reason why he’ll certainly be a 1st-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft – even if he doesn’t win the Heisman.
