Frank Gore Jr. and the Southern Miss Golden Eagles earned an impressive 38-24 victory over Rice in the LendingTree Bowl on Saturday evening in Mobile, Alabama.
The win saw Southern Miss finish the season with a 7-6 overall record, while Rice fell to 5-8 on the year.
But the most impressive part of the game was Gore’s running ability. In fact, he set a bowl record by rushing 21 times for 329 yards and 2 touchdowns. It was the most rushing yards any player has ever had in a bowl game:

Gore averaged a whopping 15.7 yards per carry. His longest run went for 64 yards against the Owls.
To make his performance even more incredible, he also went 2-for-3 as a passer for 19 yards and a touchdown.
As a redshirt sophomore, Gore is now eligible for the 2023 NFL Draft. We’ll see what the future holds for the talented running back who now holds a college football record for rushing yards in a bowl game.
