Four-star safety Cyrus Fagan is committed to Florida State, but that’s not stopping him from still considering three SEC schools.

Zach Abolverdi of SEC Country recently caught up with Fagan in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Mainland safety discussed his interest in Georgia, Florida and Tennessee – his top three SEC schools in order.

Abolverdi notes that Georgia is the most likely to flip Fagan of the three, but former teammates DE Jachai Polite (UF) and OT Marcus Tatum (UT) could help the Gators and Vols.

“I’ve played with them at Mainland for two years, so they’re like my brothers,” Fagan said. “If what they’re saying about their school is true when they get there, then I’ll consider them more.”

Fagan’s familiarity with one new Georgia assistant could also help the Bulldogs.

“It’s a school that’s on the rise,” Fagan said. “They got (defensive coordinator) Mel Tucker from Alabama. I worked with him at their summer camp.”

Florida’s most recent hire is also improving the Gators’ chances.

“(Secondary) coach Torrian Gray tells me everything I need to hear,” Fagan told Abolverdi. “Just the things he can do and players he has worked with. He’s a cool guy, and if you got a coach you love, you’ll listen to him.”

If it comes down to uniforms, Tennessee might have the edge.

“I like their tradition,” Fagan said of UT. “Their colors look cool, that orange and white. And their coaches are going to put together a good team this year.”

In a familiar recruiting storyline, Fagan says he remains committed to FSU, but could change his mind.
