After Florida State gave Notre Dame a scare in its season opener, many were expecting significant improvement from the Seminoles in 2021.

However, as former FSU quarterback and ESPN “GameDay” host Lee Corso would say, “Not so fast my friend.”

Last Saturday, the Seminoles followed up their effort against the Fighting Irish with an embarrassing home loss to FCS foe Jacksonville State.

Today? They find themselves getting thoroughly outplayed and trailing 27-14 at the half at Wake Forest.

That FSU can’t return to its former glory continues to be an issue for the ACC, which is having an absolutely brutal Saturday.

In addition to the Seminoles, one of the league’s top brands, looking bad once again, No. 15 Virginia Tech lost at West Virginia, No. 24 Miami was blown out at home by Michigan State, and Pittsburgh, a team that many were touting as a contender in the Coastal Division, lost at home to Western Michigan.

Additionally, Clemson, the conference’s only reliable power, is struggling at home against Georgia Tech in a game that is current in a 2nd-quarter weather delay with the Tigers ahead just 7-0.
