The coaching carousel continues to spin in the SEC, and the Auburn Tigers are the latest to lose an assistant coach, per multiple reports.

The Florida State Seminoles, under first-year head coach Mike Norvell, have hired away Tigers’ defensive backs coach Marcus Woodson. He joined the Auburn staff in January 2018 and was the Tigers recruiting coordinator. Woodson fills the vacancy on the Seminoles’ staff left behind by TJ Rushing’s departure to Texas A&M.

Woodson coached with Norvell at Memphis prior to coming to Auburn in 2018. The duo worked together from 2016-17. Woodson also coached at Fresno State (2014-15), Charleston Southern (2009-13) and Millsaps College (2005-08).

During his two years at Memphis with Norvell, Woodson’s secondary forced 60 turnovers, good for second-best in the nation.

The Moss Point, Mississippi, native played for Ole Miss for two years, recording 38 tackles. He graduated in 2003.
