Gabriel Plascencia, 5-star kicker, commits to SEC program

Gabriel Plascencia, a junior college kicker at the College of San Mateo in California, made official on Sunday what many had expected for a few days. He has committed to continue his career at Mississippi State.
Plascencia initially had an offer from the Bulldogs to be a preferred walk-on as the program dealt with kicking issues last year to the point that Mike Leach offered an open tryout for any student on campus. Plascencia plans to transfer in January after he weighed an offer from Sacramento State, and also drew some interest from Washington, Cal and San Diego State, the Clarion-Ledger reported.
