Third-year sophomore Devin Washington, expected to compete for snaps at South Carolina this season along the defensive line, will take a medical hardship and end his football career with the Gamecocks, according to TheBigSpur.com.
The former three-star 2013 signee from Orlando, Fla., suffered a concussion as a freshman and never returned to full strength, slowed by prolonged headaches.
Best of luck to Devin Washington. He was THE ambassador of 2013 class and has been on front lines of charitable work for #Gamecocks

A member of the SEC All-Academic Team, Washington will remain on scholarship.
“There were times I would think to myself, ‘Is it smart to go back out there?'” Washington said in an interview with The State during spring practice last season. “I’ve had tons of injuries. Football players, we break bones and stuff like that, but a concussion, you’re talking about the brain and it’s serious. I had those moments. I would start praying and God would show me. I started getting better. I’m good now. Obviously he wants me out here for something.”
