With the official roster released, two incoming transfers have been made official.

Former North Carolina running back Ty’Son Williams will wear No. 27 with the Gamecocks. Williams, whose transfer plans were announced on July 1, is a former four-star prospect and will be eligiible to play in 2017. He will have four years to play three seasons.

The Gamecocks are getting some immediate help from junior college safety Steven Montac. The transfer from Coffeyville Community College in Kansas teased his potential transfer earlier this month when he visited South Carolina campus.

“You guys will just have to see Aug. 1 when practice starts,” Montac recently told The State regarding his team for the fall.

Montac, who will wear No. 12, has three years of eligibility remaining. He was rated the No. 3 JUCO safety of the 2016 class.

Update:

Montac’s name has since been removed from the roster. SEC Country’s Hale McGranahan is reporting that the school is awaiting his transcript, and the issue should be resolved Monday or Tuesday.
