Gary Danielson on why the CFP Committee will be praying for upsets

The debut rankings for the College Football Playoff Top 25 were just released Tuesday evening, but Gary Danielson believes the committee may already be praying for upsets.

Danielson explained in a recent CBS video the problem the committee is now facing with two SEC teams and Notre Dame ranked inside the top four.

Georgia and Alabama are currently ranked No. 1 and No. 2 and are both undefeated. Both have tough games remaining on the schedule, but both should be favored to head to the SEC Championship Game with an undefeated record.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame is currently ranked as the best one-loss team in the country. The Fighting Irish are ranked ahead of Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Penn State.

If the top three teams win out in the regular season, it could create quite an uncomfortable scenario for the committee. Here is a look at Danielson’s reasoning shared by CBS Sports on Twitter:
