The Gator Bowl is expected to return next season, at least in part.

The game’s sponsor, TaxSlayer, plans to remain associated with the game, however, will allow the name Gator Bowl to return. According to the Florida Times-Union, the game will be known as the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl beginning next season.

The SEC annually faces either an ACC or Big Ten team in the bowl game at the conclusion of every regular season. The game is held annually in Jacksonville. Mississippi State beat Louisville in the game last season by a 31-27 margin.

The TaxSlayer Bowl recently teased an announcement scheduled for Wednesday, with the return of the Gator Bowl namesake expected to be made official.
