Gators pick up fifth commit of this week, Miami S Randy Russell

Florida’s big recruiting week keeps rolling along.

On Saturday, 3-star Miami Carol City S Randy Russell announced his commitment to Florida, becoming the Gators’ fifth pledge within the last week. Russell is now the fourth new commitment for UF’s 2018 class.

A Miami Hurricanes pledge up until June 6, Russell has 31 scholarship offers including Michigan and Georgia. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder is rated the No. 46 safety and No. 92 Sunshine State recruit on the 247Sports Composite and was recruited by defensive backs coach Corey Bell and defensive coordinator Randy Shannon.

Russell kept Florida’s post-Friday Night Lights momentum rolling with an announcement on Twitter.

With Russell on board, the Gators now have 11 commitments for 2018. His highlights can be seen below:
