Florida went 80 yards in nine plays, but Van Jefferson capped the big scoring drive with a circus catch near the goal line as he fought off pass interference from a Georgia defender to haul in the touchdown.

The play was reviewed for several minutes before the officials said the play stood. That meant Florida cut the deficit to 16-10 with 13:51 remaining in the game. While the Florida rushing attack has struggled mightily throughout the game, the passing attack has kept the Gators alive.

The catch was Jefferson’s first of the game, and it went for 23 yards. By that point in the game, QB Kyle Trask was 15-for-22 for 212 yards. The touchdown came after Florida converted a fourth down, a six-yard pass from Task to Freddie Swain. But they’re still struggling on third down at an 0-for-6 conversion clip.
