Gene Chizik criticizes Auburn offense after first-half struggles against Southern Miss

The Auburn Tigers surprisingly find themselves with their hands full against Southern Miss this week.
They lead 14-3 at halftime, and are now in a weather delay, but the offense has struggled against the Golden Eagles.
At halftime, former Auburn coach (and current SEC Network analyst) Gene Chizik said the Auburn offense doesn’t work when the running game is stagnant.
“When this offense isn’t running the football, it doesn’t work.” Chizik said.
Chizik went on to say the Tigers aren’t helping themselves by committing seven penalties before halftime. He also added that Kam Martin can’t be a full-time back in the SEC, which is an issue because Boobee Whitlow left the game with an injury.
Obviously, the Tigers probably don’t need to be firing on all cylinders to beat Southern Miss, but this could turn into an issue moving forward.
