George Pickens scores monster go-ahead touchdown for Steelers on MNF vs. Browns

There’s nothing quite like that Kenny Pickett to George Pickens type of chemistry, something that shone through as the former Georgia wide receiver broke things open with a 71-yard, go-ahead touchdown in Monday night’s matchup between the Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The score on a slant route brought a new spark for the Steelers after an otherwise stagnant first half for the offense. It also marked Pickens’ first touchdown of the game and the longest of his NFL career.

Before the score, the Browns held an 11-10 lead with just over 6 minutes remaining in the second quarter of action. The Steelers elected to try for a 2-point conversion after a Browns penalty on the extra-point attempt. It was unsuccessful as running back Najee Harris could not cross past the goal line.

The Steelers currently hold a 16-14 lead over the Browns at halftime. If Pittsburgh is able to hold on, the team will improve to 1-1 overall and secure its first win of the season.

Pittsburgh fell 30-7 in the season-opener against the San Francisco 49ers last week.
