Georgia is heading into enemy territory on Saturday night, and the 2nd-ranked Bulldogs know they’ll need their best from their very best players to survive No. 4 Alabama in Tuscaloosa in the primetime showdown.
A few hours beforehand, Kirby Smart’s team named its team captains for what it is one of the most anticipated games in SEC history. Not surprisingly, quarterback Carson Beck tops the quartet of captains who will attempt to lead the Bulldogs to victory. The senior QB has thrown for 680 yards so far this season, with 7 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

Georgia’s other 3 captains for Saturday night’s game will be junior running back Trevor Etienne, junior linebacker Jalon Walker and junior defensive back Malaki Starks.
Etienne has 157 yards rushing on 24 carries so far in 2024, but he’s only played in 2 games, having been suspended for the season opener against Clemson because of an offseason DUI arrest.
Walker has recorded 4 tackles and 1.5 sacks this season, while Starks has 6 solo tackles and 1 interception so far in helping Georgia to a 3-0 start.
The Bulldogs struggled in their last game 2 weeks ago at Kentucky, escaping with a 13-12 victory. They’ll need a lot more from everybody, especially these 4 team captains, if they’re going to escape Tuscaloosa with a victory.
