The target date for the first show back in Sanford Stadium is set for Saturday, April 25. That timing should allow for Georgia to complete spring practices before hosting the event.
“The idea of bringing concerts back to Sanford Stadium has been in the works for a long time, and I am excited to see it become a reality,” J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Josh Brooks said via the press release. “Our partnership with Does Entertainment allows us to attract top talent to Athens for a one-of-a-kind show. While nothing compares to a football Saturday at Sanford Stadium, a big-name concert inside one of the most iconic venues in sports creates a tradition that Bulldog Nation and the surrounding area will enjoy.”
The Bulldogs last hosted concerts in 2013 and 2014 with country music stars Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan involved in both shows. The most recent event included opening acts from Thomas Rhett and Jake Owen.
