Georgia coach Mark Richt was hoping to bring a long-tenured assistant over to Miami, but that doesn’t look like it’s happening.

John Lilly, the Bulldogs tight ends coach since 2008, reportedly didn’t accept an offer from Richt to join his staff as co-offensive coordinator with the Hurricanes, per a report from FootballScoop.com.

Prior to his tenure in Athens, Lilly was the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator under legendary head coach Bobby Bowden for 10 seasons at Florida State (1998-2007).
