Georgia availability report reveals status of OL Earnest Greene
As teams begin to hit the grind of conference play, the SEC’s injury reports are expected to become more populated.
Such is the case for Kentucky and Georgia this week, as a whopping 15 players are featured on the initial list, with 11 of them hailing from Lexington.
And most notably, Bulldogs offensive lineman Earnest Greene will miss another game with a back injury that has nagged him for years. It sidelined him in 2022, and after Greene re-injured it during the opener against Marshall, he was in and out of the lineup before missing the Alabama game last weekend.
Meanwhile, 7 Kentucky players — including 2 wide receivers and cornerbacks apiece — are listed as out. Quarterback Zach Calzada has been upgraded to probable after Cutter Boley worked behind center in the loss to South Carolina.
Prior to that game, Kentucky’s injury report featured 8 players.
Joining Greene on Georgia’s injured list is fellow offensive lineman Malachi Toliver, tight end Ethan Barbour and wide receiver Thomas Blackshear. All four of those players missed the date with the Crimson Tide as well.
The Wildcats and Bulldogs will kick off at noon EST, with the game being televised by ABC. Both teams are looking to avoid falling into the doldrums of the SEC standings with a loss.
