Georgia struggled against Florida on Saturday in the team’s annual Cocktail Party matchup in Jacksonville. But late in the third quarter, the Bulldogs took their first lead of the evening thanks in part to a special teams error by the Gators.

With less than 3 minutes to go in the third, the Gators lined up for a 51-yard field goal try that would have put them ahead 16-13. Instead, the snap got past the grasp of the holder, with the ball rolling all the way back to Florida territory before being covered up at the Gators’ 36 by Jalon Walker.

Here’s video of the botched field goal attempt:

Three plays later, Georgia took the lead. Carson Beck connected with Cash Jones, who evaded a would-be ankle tackle and took it to the end zone as the Dawgs pulled ahead.

Georgia held a 136-10 advantage in total yardage during the third quarter. That was despite what had been a rough outing for Beck, who had thrown 3 interceptions before his touchdown pass to Jones, the signal-caller’s first TD of the game.

The Bulldogs entered the day on a three-game win streak against the Gators, but on Saturday, they’ve gotten all they could handle from the Gators.
