Georgia defensive end Jonathan Ledbetter remains suspended for fifth consecutive week

Georgia defensive end Jonathan Ledbetter will remain suspended for Saturday’s game against Tennessee, head coach Kirby Smart announced Monday during his press conference.

Ledbetter was suspended for the Bulldogs’ first two games by the Georgia Athletic Association following a DUI on July 10. It was his second alcohol-related arrest, which means he could be suspended for six games depending on how his March 20 arrest is viewed.
The defensive end was arrested for underage consumption of alcohol and using a fake ID in an attempt to enter an Athens Bar, but the charges were later dropped. According to a police report, Ledbetter was described as “very inebriated.”
Ledbetter played in seven games as a true freshman in 2015 and recorded four tackles. He ranked as the No. 5 strong-side defensive end and No 66 overall prospect from the 2015 national signing class, according to the 247Sports Composite ratings.
