Georgia is battling it out with Georgia Tech in another installment of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate. While Kirby Smart’s group rolled into the game as the No. 7 team in the country and a massive favorite, the Bulldogs have not played like one on Black Friday.

Instead, it is Brent Key’s Yellow Jackets who built a 17-0 lead in the first half with what can only be described as a dominant performance on both sides of the ball. In fact, Georgia Tech left a couple of empty trips to the red zone on the field, so the score could have been even worse.

While the Georgia defense has not been lights out by any measure, the offense has been particularly brutal. Across their first 4 drives of the game, Georgia produced a pair of 3-and-outs to go with a turnover on downs and a turnover.

The most effective drive by the Bulldogs came with less than a minute remaining in the half, but all it yielded was a long-range field goal that never had a shot at being good.

At the break, Georgia is down 17-0 in what would be a major upset for the college football world. It is the first time the Bulldogs have been shut out in the first half since the 2019 game against Kentucky.

Here’s a look at how fans and media alike reacted to a dreadful first half from the Bulldogs:
