Georgia and Georgia Tech play every season in the Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate rivalry, and the game is rotated at each other’s campus every other years.

Their matchup this season will be in Athens, but the game next year will be at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, not Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Georgia Tech has a 6-game agreement with Mercedes-Benz Stadium to play one game a year inside the home facility of the Atlanta Falcons. GT also confirmed in the announcement that the Yellow Jackets will receive a $10 million guarantee for moving the 2025 rivalry matchup off campus to MBS.

“As part of the new agreement, AMBSE will provide us with a $10 million guarantee just to play the 2025 Georgia Tech-Georgia game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a transformative revenue lift for Tech Athletics,” Athletic Director J Batt wrote in a statement. “In addition to the $10 million guarantee, the reworked agreement with AMBSE will provide Tech season ticket members with seating priority opportunities that they haven’t had for our previous games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.”

The game hasn’t been played anywhere other than 1 of the 2 campuses since 1913, and this is only a 1 time thing. The game will be played in Athens in 2026, and then back at Bobby Dodd  in 2027.

The Yellow Jackets are having 1 of their best seasons in some time, as they are currently 5-2 entering a huge home game on Saturday against No. 12 Notre Dame.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be on ABC, and the game will be at Bobby Dodd.
