Georgia kicker Peyton Woodring was honored as 1 of the 3 kickers to receive the Lou Groza Award’s Star of the Week for Week 3.

The Lou Groza Award recognizes 3 of the top kickers each week from FBS division teams. The award is named after Hall of Fame kicker Lou “The Toe” Groza. He played 21 seasons with the Cleveland Browns, won 4 NFL championships, and was named NFL Player of the Year in 1954.

Georgia’s Peyton Woodring kept his cool and connected on all three field goal attempts on the road in front of nearly 102,000 Tennessee fans, helping the Bulldogs to a 44-41 overtime victory,” a release notes. “Woodring has made it a habit of coming up biggest in the toughest games, as the performance marked his 6th career 3-for-3 game with all of them coming either on the road, against top-20 opponents, or as was the case Saturday, both.

Woodring connected from 20, 24, and 48 yards out on his 3 kicks this past weekend.

Woodring is now 4-for-4 on the year and 13-for-13 on extra point attempts. In his college career, Woodring is 12-for-13 from 40-49 yards, and his longest kick came last year when he made a 55-yard attempt.
