Entering the “Joe Burrow vs. Matthew Stafford” Super Bowl, it’s only fitting that LSU and Georgia have the longest-active streaks of sending players to The Big Game. Sunday marks 21 consecutive Super Bowls with a former player from each school.
Active streaks have been snapped in recent years. Nebraska was on top with an active streak of 26 consecutive Super Bowls from 1994-to-2019 before no Cornhuskers made the 2020 game. The active streak lead then went to Purdue. The Boilermakers were represented in 21-straight Super Bowls until last year’s game.
Here are the former players from Georgia and LSU in Super Bowl LVI between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams:
Georgia
- OL Lamont Gaillard (Bengals)
- OL Trey Hill (Bengals)
- RB Elijah Holyfield (Bengals)
- LB Leonard Floyd (Rams)
- RB Sony Michel (Rams)
- QB Matthew Stafford (Rams)
LSU
- QB Joe Burrow (Bengals)
- WR Ja’Marr Chase (Bengals)
- TE Thaddeus Moss (Bengals)
- DT Tyler Shelvin (Bengals)
- WR Odell Beckham Jr. (Rams)
- OL Andrew Whitworth (Rams)
We’ll see next year if we’re talking about 22 Super Bowls in a row.
