There weren’t many surprises among Georgia’s players of the week following its 48-7 takedown of South Carolina on Saturday.
Brock Bowers exploded for his best performance of the early season, making 5 catches for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding a 3rd on a end-around during the 1st half. For his efforts, he was named the offense’s top performer.
Meanwhile, Nolan Smith and Jamon Dumas-Johnson were the defensive players of the week. Smith totaled 3 tackles, including a stop for a loss, helping anchor a effort that kept the Gamecocks off the board for nearly the entire contest. Dumas-Johnson recorded 6 tackles on the afternoon and was another among a host of standouts on the defensive side of the ball.
Jack Podlesny wrapped up the list as the special teams player of the week, making all 6 of his extra points while adding a field goal. He is a perfect 16-of-16 on points after this season and last missed on Oct. 16 against Kentucky.
