Georgia OC: Wouldn’t be telling the truth if I said I wasn’t disappointed with 2016
Georgia offensive coordinator Jim Chaney is not pleased with the way things went in his first season as play-caller for the Bulldogs.
Chaney, who joined Kirby Smart’s first staff after spending a year with Pittsburgh and several years with Tennessee and Arkansas prior to that, told reporters during Wednesday’s Liberty Bowl press conference that wouldn’t be telling the truth if “I wasn’t disappointed with our production.”

Georgia finished 7-5 (4-4) this season and averaged a meager 24 points per game — good for 11th in the SEC. The Dawgs produced 382.4 yards per game (11th) and 5.37 per play (11th) and enter the postseason with 21 plays of 30-plus yards (12th).
The program hasn’t had this many issues on offense since the 2006 season, when it ended 53rd nationally with 25.2 points.
There’s a great opportunity to head into the offseason on a high note, however, as Georgia takes on a TCU defense that has 30 points or more six times this year.
The Liberty Bowl will begin on Dec. 30 at noon ET and can be watched on ESPN.
