Could Georgia have just found its next quarterback recruit?

The Bulldogs recently extended an offer to Hattiesburg, Miss., native John Rhys Plumlee. The 2019 quarterback prospect currently doesn’t have a ranking according to 247Sports Composite Rankings but it’s worth noting that Alabama, Auburn, and Mississippi State have all extended early scholarship offers to the rising senior prospect.

A true dual-threat option at the high school level, Rhys Plumlee threw for 1,759 yards and 14 touchdowns while adding 599 yards and 8 scores on the ground in his first season as a starter for Oak Grove High School. Listed at 6-feet, 180-pounds, Rhys Plumlee appears to possess legit 4.40 speed — based on his junior season highlight reel.

The Mississippi native announced Georgia’s scholarship offer Wednesday night:

While he may not currently possess the physical attributes necessary to play QB immediately at the SEC level, Rhys Plumlee’s speed makes him incredibly intriguing moving forward for several SEC programs. Don’t be surprised if his stock takes a huge rise if SEC teams continue to recruit him this summer. He appears to be a big play waiting to happen based on his junior season film:
