Georgia pass rusher indicates he’s back with the team after brief absence
Georgia pass rusher Darris Smith indicated on Friday night that he’s back with the team .
Just a few days ago, Kirby Smart announced that Darris Smith was not currently with the team. Smith had not played for the Bulldogs since September due to undisclosed reasons.
Now, the edge rusher is back with the team according to his Instagram story:

Georgia has not yet confirmed Smith’s status.
A former Appling County standout from Baxley, Georgia, Smith was rated 4-stars, the No. 18 recruit in the Peach State, No. 14 edge and No. 163 prospect overall in the Class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite. He signed with UGA over offers from 10 other schools, including Auburn, South Carolina and Tennessee.
In 2022, Smith saw action in 11 games, mostly in a reserve special teams role. In 2023, the edge rusher saw action in the first 5 games of the season. During that time, Smith collected 3 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 pass defense.
Georgia will face Florida on Saturday.
