Georgia’s task was handled easily with the Bulldogs cruising to a 33-point win over Derek Mason’s Vanderbilt team on Saturday afternoon at Sanford Stadium.

Let’s grade the ‘Dawgs performance in each phase of the game:

Offense: A-

Todd Gurley ran for yards. He caught passes for yards. He threw for yards. Gurley amassed 163 yards on 25 carries, caught two passes for 24 yards and threw a 50-yard pass. What can’t he do? You tell me. Multiple quarterbacks saw time for Georgia and it sounds as if that will continue to be the case as Georgia coaches search for anything that will get the ‘Dawgs going through the air. All in all, it was a solid performance as Georgia continues to put up points at ease.

Defense: B+

Georgia allowed 320 yards to a Vanderbilt team that has had astronomical problems on offense as Derek Mason continues to play quarterback roulette. Wade Freebeck and Steven Rivers both saw time for the Commodores, but both signal callers made some throws to beat Georgia defenders and Ralph Webb and Jerron Seymour had a nice game on the ground. You had hoped the Bulldogs could answer some questions against a far-less talented offense, but now faces a stiff test in Maty Mauk in Missouri.

Special Teams: A

Marshall Morgan made his only field goal attempt of the afternoon, and other than that, it was a relatively quiet day on special teams for the Bulldogs. Return specialist Isaiah McKenzie was never able to break loose, and kick coverage was solid all afternoon for Georgia.
